Time to catch up

Right thought had better not leave it so long to get my second blog up as my wonderful husband seems to have thrown down the gauntlet..... I am still deciding whether to take up the challenge...... and one of us has to keep our business going..... now perhaps I had better let you all in on the 'fun time' chat.....

Alex sauntered in from the gym feeling very pleased with himself that he had managed a personal best on the cross trainer in a record time... His competitive streak can sometimes consume him but it can be a good quality - as he has approached our blog site in the same way.... can't you tell as the score is currently 4 to 2..... oh no when did this turn into a competition.... message to self.....rise above it Jennifer.....

I was in the middle of clearing up from dinner with the children, and helping our Son finish his half term school project.... and trying to get our Daughter from upsetting our Son by saying Mr Morrison his teacher would think it was and I quote 'pants'.... now it is probably best to explain, that our children are very close in age..... and if the school year fell differently they would in fact be in the same year.... however this does not stop our Daughter from constantly playing the 'I am older, wiser, been there, done that, card......' at every opportunity.... so you can imagine the setting for Alex's 'fun time' chat could possibly have been better chosen....

Incidentally I am writing this blog during the early hours of the morning, if there was only a way to get extra hours in the day.....  however the 'fun time' chat and the analysis of our days has made me think.... time for some changes... watch this space!

As for urinating male monkeys to attract lady monkeys.... do I really need to comment!!!! Lady monkeys run now... save yourselves!!!!

My introduction (Hello)

Hi There and Welcome to our Blog……

My name is Jennifer, and I thought it was about time I introduced myself and actually posted the blog that my darling husband Alex has been promising you all since last week….

I think it is important to set the expectation at this point that I am not a creative writer and am totally new to blogging, but I do hope you enjoy our posts and that we can give you an insight into a perfect marriage or rather as it is transpiring the 'not' so perfect marriage!  You really would think we would be better at it wouldn't you given our 'so called' inside knowledge and supposing evolved human interaction skills.

A little about my outlook, I am generally happy with the World and looking for the best in everything and everyone …. Unlike Alex who seems day by day to turn more and  more into one of these Grumpy Old Men/Victor Meldrew types.  That being said he seems to have a new lease of life, I would like to say it is because he is on the path to enlightenment but no… it comes in the form of his newest gadget - his Apple MacBook - whom the people in the office have named Wendy - she even has her own reserved space on the desk!

Now I have to admit it is a thing of beauty with some catchy extras (the rollercoaster simulation has been a constant source of entertainment for Alex, and annoyance to the rest of us in the office, well after the first go - it’s the same every time it really doesn't matter if you wave your hands in the air or not!)….. Still I don't quite see how he can pop into get a print cartridge for the office and come back several hundred pounds lighter with a grin that would be worthy of the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland!

As usual he has managed to convince me that this an essential addition to the technology that we already have in our home, and something we simply can not live without (am sure he said the same thing about the universal remote that none of us - including the kids, can work!)  However it is his constant companion and travels daily with us to the office - hence it's own space!  He has been virtually off radar for almost a week now, and whilst the peace and quiet is welcome (apart from when he finds a new feature) the additional work is not!

Anyway looking on the bright side…. We now have our own blog page.  Alex has found a new calling (and at least it distracts him from the thought he wants to take up sailing….) and is embracing this 'blogging' whole heartedly, one of the reasons I love him) however I now have about four blogs (he has been typing solidly all afternoon and swearing to me he was doing out finances….. He lies like a cheap watch, he never smiles when he is doing the banking!)  to catch up on.

I will look forward to posting again soon, I think that’s the term but right now I have 'our' - sorry is that 'my' - next client about to walk through the door that I need to prepare for!
